DRESSAGE

Jiji Mellon, Trainer

Jiji Mellon       Jiji Mellon has over 40 years experience in teaching riding and training. She has competed in Dressage up to Prix St. George. In eventing up to Preliminary Horse Trials. She has also done Musical Freestyles, has been the head instructor for Pony Club Camps and is an ‘L’ graduate, which qualifies her to judge dressage schooling shows. Other areas of experience include horse body work and horse ground work. She is also certified for people message and has studied dance.
Jiji's emphasis is on the rider’s biomechanics and its effect on the horse to create balance, calmness of mind and freedom of movement which leads to confidence and expression for both horse and rider.

Horsemen who have had the greatest influence on her career include Karl Mikolka, Erik Herbermann (author of Dressage Formula), the late Herman Koopmans, eventing coach and Olympic medalist James Wofford, Tom Dorrance, Mary Wanless, equestrian and author of many books, Monty Roberts, and USEA (eventing) Young Riders coach Brian Sabo.

JUMPING

Dee White, Trainer

Dee White       Dee has over 25 years experience competing in Hunters/Jumpers, Equitation, Dressage, Eventing and Pony Club. She is an ICP candidate with USEA and has been instructing safe horsemanship and horse management since 1980. Dee trained and competed for Island Dreamer Farm for 22 years and has owned and operated Whitegate Farms since 1990.
Dee believes in bringing out the best in every horse and rider combination through a patient, consistent and progressive program and uses combined training and safety to develop the individual skills of each horse and rider. She believes that all horses need strong ground manners to build a stong foundation for further training and incorporates combined training, gymnastics, balanced flat-work and, foremost, safety. Dee strives to further her riding and educating through clinics and lessons, which in turn will benefit her clients and horses in attaining their personal goals.
