Karl Mikolka encouraging Rascal to use his hocks in piaffe
Karl Mikolka Dressage Clinic at Pony Tracks Ranch - Feb. 21-22, 2007
Dorothy had the privilege to ride with Karl Mikolka,
former Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School and Olympic Coach, for three days. During
that time, she worked on beginning piaffe, exercises to encourage suppleness and throughness,
counter canter, flying changes, and beginning tempis. As always, precision and geometric figures provided
a foundation for all the exercises.
Jiji, as well as hosting the clinic, worked with Karl with her young stallion Hewl.
It was a wonderufl, exciting and exhausting learning experience from a true master of dressage. Wow!
